WINE LOVERS EXPLORATION @ SIGNAL HILL

An unusual moment at Signal Hill winery, around a 1947 Chateau Chalon, from the Jura region. The Vin Jaune, is with the wines from Jerez the ultimate refined wine. The very slow controled oxydation of these wines, in barrels, under flor, make them unique.

For this event, a cheese platter and tapas will be served, at Signal Hill winery, and we will drink a 1947 Chateau Chalon from Cave Taillevent, a 1997 Vin Jaune from Domaine Dugois, a very fresh Manzanilla La Guita and an even freshest Palomino Muy Seco Fino from Tio Pepe, just flown from Spain. Other Signal Hill wines will be served.

The event is limited to 8 wine lovers. Price is 390 rands per person, considering that a 1947 vintage will be shared, this is a gift. Only prepaid guest, so act quickly to book your seat at this unique event, with very very rare wines. Only a limited amount of Vin Jaune is certified, only on the best vintages. Chateau Chalon as always been considered as one of the Top 5 best French white wine, with Montrachet, Yquem, Chateau Grillet and La Coulée de Serrant.

Saturday 26th June - 19:30

WINE LOVERS DINNER @ SIGNAL HILL

The first of our Wine Lovers Dinners, conducted by Sommelier Jörg Pfützner, with pieces of History and some unforgetable Signal Hill Wines.

The Climax of the evening will be a 1923 Romanée Saint Vivant, one of the most famous grand cru from Burgundy, next to La Romanée Conti. This 1923 is fresh from a Belgian cellar, and one bottle of the case has been tasted by JV Ridon. As Well we have one of the best Pomerol of the 70' with Chateau Trotanoy 1975, rated 95 by Parker, and 97 by Tanzer. Perfect Level for this bottling by Lafitte. We will offer as well some great Vouvray, such as a 1966 Clos de Nouys, and 1989 Huet Moelleux. (please note that market value of Trotanoy is 700 euro and Romanée St Vivant is 900 euro)

The Price is R2000,00 per person, all inclusive. This is a dinner of 8 persons only, so it is a drinking moment, not a sipping one. For more details, contact us. First come, first served.

info@winery.co.za for bookings. We will ask payment at confirmation. All the wines from European Cellar, airshipped, and stored in a Eurocave in South Africa.
